As a former Harvard Medical School faculty member who has ADHD himself, Dr. Hallowell pioneered the modern, strength-based approach to neurodiversity. We brought his empathetic, evidence-based strategies directly to HumanUp for parents navigating ADHD and focus challenges.
Edward “Ned” Hallowell, MD, is a board-certified child and adult psychiatrist and one of the world’s best-known authorities on ADHD. He earned his BA from Harvard and his MD from Tulane, then spent more than two decades on the faculty of Harvard Medical School.
As someone with ADHD and dyslexia himself, Ned brings empathy and lived experience to his strength-based approach. He founded the Hallowell ADHD Centers, where teams support children, teens, and adults with evidence-based care.
Ned is also a New York Times bestselling author and a sought-after voice on ADHD, neurodiversity, and thriving with attention differences.
